A wife’s beauty and sexuality is completely meant only for her husband to enjoy and no other. Many women do not understand this concept, and so they lavish their flirtatious speech and sexuality through immodest clothing upon all to see, which is wrong in the eyes of God.
Ezekiel 16:15-16, 23–26, 31-41, 43-45 & 47, 50, 58-59 – “ ‘But you trusted in your beauty and used your fame to become a prostitute. You lavished your favors on anyone who passed by and your beauty became his. 16You took some of your garments to make gaudy high places, where you carried on your prostitution. You went to him, and he possessed your beauty.
God opposes women who lavish their beauty and favors on strange men who are not their husband.
23 “ ‘Woe! Woe to you, declares the Sovereign Lord. In addition to all your other wickedness, 24you built a mound for yourself and made a lofty shrine in every public square. 25At every street corner you built your lofty shrines and degraded your beauty, spreading your legs with increasing promiscuity to anyone who passed by. 26You engaged in prostitution with the Egyptians, your neighbors with large genitals, and aroused my anger with your increasing promiscuity…
A promiscuous and flirtatious demeanor towards strange men who are not her husband, is frowned upon by God. It arouses His wrath and condemnation.
32“ ‘You adulterous wife! You prefer strangers to your own husband!
What’s worse, is that some women are sensual and promiscuous, wearing immodest clothing and speaking seductively to everyone except their husband. They go against God’s word and sexually deny their husband and reserve their sexuality for strangers.
1 Corinthians 7:3-5 – The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. 5 Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
This sort of behavior is referred to as ‘indiscretion’.
Proverbs 11:2 – A beautiful woman without discretion, is like a gold ring in a pig’s snout.
A wife must be satisfied with her own husband and not be insatiable for other men.
Ezekiel 16:28-29 – You engaged in prostitution with the Assyrians too, because you were insatiable; and even after that, you still were not satisfied. 29Then you increased your promiscuity to include Babylonia, a land of merchants, but even with this you were not satisfied.
This behavior angers God.
Ezekiel 16:30 – ‘I am filled with fury against you, declares the Sovereign Lord, when you do all these things, acting like a brazen prostitute!
A wife is meant to reserve her beauty, flirtatious speech and sexuality as a whole, for her husband. These attributes are not to be offered to other strange men.
31When you built your mounds at every street corner and made your lofty shrines in every public square, you were unlike a prostitute, because you scorned payment. 32“ ‘You adulterous wife! You prefer strangers to your own husband!
33Men give gifts to all their prostitutes, but you gave gifts to all your lovers. You bribed them to come to you from everywhere for your illicit favors. 34So your prostitution is the opposite of that of other women: No one solicited your favors, and you paid a fee instead of receiving one; so you are the very opposite!
The fee that an adulterous wife pays, is the penalty of God’s wrath.
A wife who flirts with other men and lavishes her beauty and attention on strange men instead of her husband, is worse than a prostitute in the eyes of God. This is because what the prostitute does out of desperation and survival, the adulterous woman offers for free. She sins not out of dire need, but rather by choice of want. An adulterous wife fornicates for free and she ends up paying the ultimate price, losing her eternal life. Whereas a prostitute does so out of desperation, survival and financial need.
Matthew 21:31 – “Which of the two did what his father wanted?” “The first,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you.
The punishment for such a wayward adulterous wife is severe.
35“ ‘Therefore, you prostitute, hear the word of the Lord! 36This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because you poured out your lust and exposed your naked body in your promiscuity with your lovers, and because of all your detestable idols, and because you gave them your children’s blood, 37therefore I am going to gather all your lovers, with whom you found pleasure, those you loved as well as those you hated. I will gather them against you from all around and will strip you in front of them, and they will see you stark naked. 38I will sentence you to the punishment of women who commit adultery and who shed blood; I will bring on you the blood vengeance of my wrath and jealous anger. 39Then I will deliver you into the hands of your lovers, and they will tear down your mounds and destroy your lofty shrines. They will strip you of your clothes and take your fine jewelry and leave you stark naked. 40They will bring a mob against you, who will stone you and hack you to pieces with their swords. 41They will burn down your houses and inflict punishment on you in the sight of many women. I will put a stop to your prostitution, and you will no longer pay your lovers. 42Then my wrath against you will subside and my jealous anger will turn away from you; I will be calm and no longer angry.
43“ ‘Because you did not remember the days of your youth but enraged me with all these things, I will surely bring down on your head what you have done, declares the Sovereign Lord. Did you not add lewdness to all your other detestable practices?
44“ ‘Everyone who quotes proverbs will quote this proverb about you: “Like mother, like daughter.” 45You are a true daughter of your mother, who despised her husband and her children; and you are a true sister of your sisters, who despised their husbands and their children. Your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite.
47 You not only followed their ways and copied their detestable practices, but in all your ways you soon became more depraved than they. 50They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen….You will bear the consequences of your lewdness and your detestable practices, declares the Lord….
58 You will bear the consequences of your lewdness and your detestable practices, declares the Lord. 59“ ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will deal with you as you deserve, because you have despised my oath by breaking the covenant.
The concept of repentance (shame and guilt for forgiveness of sins) is mentioned throughout the bible.
Ezekiel 16:52, 61, 63 – 52 Bear your disgrace, for you have furnished some justification for your sisters. Because your sins were more vile than theirs, they appear more righteous than you. So then, be ashamed and bear your disgrace, for you have made your sisters appear righteous…
61 Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed when you receive your sisters, both those who are older than you and those who are younger.
63 Then, when I make atonement for you for all you have done, you will remember and be ashamed and never again open your mouth because of your humiliation, declares the Sovereign Lord.’ ”
A wife who is guilty of this type of behavior and actions, must repent and feel guilt and remorse.
Acts 8:22 – Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart.
Luke 24:47 – and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Luke 13:5 – I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”
Luke 13:3 – I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
Acts 26:20 – First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds.
Romans 2:4 – Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
Acts 3:19 – Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
Acts 17:30 – In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.
Women who conduct themselves in this way, must change their way of thinking.
Ephesians 4:22-24 – you were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Romans 12:2 -Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Ephesians 4:17 – So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.
Colossians 3:2 – Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
She must change her belief that acting this way is acceptable and ask God for forgiveness, which He is sure to give.
1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Psalm 32:5 – Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.
Proverbs 28:13 – Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
